Rocker Joe Perry collapses at performance at Coney Island

Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry was hospitalized on Sunday, July 10 after collapsing during a performance at Ford Amphitheater in Coney Island.

The 65-year-old Perry became visibly ill during his performance with his side band, the Hollywood Vampires, a rock supergroup that also includes Johnny Depp and Alice Cooper.

Witnesses say Perry came onto the stage around 9:30 p.m. looking sluggish and then proceeded to sit down by the drumset in the middle of the band’s first song. He later walked off and collapsed.

Perry was taken to Coney Island Hospital where he underwent testing before being moved to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. His staff tweeted during the night, stating that he was in stable condition and with family.
