A 65-year-old man was killed after being struck by a vehicle and dragged for several blocks at a Bay Ridge intersection following an altercation.

According to police, on Thursday, November 9 at around 9:15 p.m., following an earlier fender-bender in Sunset Park, an altercation between the driver of one and a passenger in the other took place at the intersection of 65th Street and Third Avenue.

The victim, Gavriel Mardaknayevy, a Coney Island resident, got out of his car, which was being driven by his wife, and confronted the driver of the other vehicle, 55-year-old David Cruz. When he went in front of the vehicle, Cruz allegedly accelerated, striking Mardaknayevy and dragging him for two blocks before stopping at 67th Street and Third Avenue.

Cops responded to a 911 call and found Mardaknayevy lying on the roadway badly injured. He was rushed to NYU Langone Hospital- Brooklyn where he was pronounced dead.

Cruz, a Bay Ridge resident, has been charged with second degree murder.
