Another egg-cellent time during annual Golden Easter Egg Hunt

It was another Golden Easter in Bay Ridge as State Senator Marty Golden hosted his annual Easter Egg Hunt and Easter Bonnet Contest at Shore Road Park and 79th Street on Saturday, April 15 at 2 p.m.

Kids were off to the races to hunt for eggs in the park as they, along with their families, were able to participate in a number of other activities, such as games, dancing, music and prize giveaways, and were able to meet the Easter Bunny as well.

“The annual Easter Egg Hunt I sponsored took place on a picture perfect day with a great crowd and much enthusiasm,” Golden said. “The event was a great success, with a special visit from the Easter Bunny and prizes for all, making the afternoon in Shore Road Park a fun time for all.”

Golden also thanked NYC CERT, who kept crowds safe during the fun-filled day. “Thank you to everyone that came out today and participated in the Easter Egg Hunt. Special thanks to my staff for putting this together, to all the volunteers and sponsors and to CERT for always being there for our communities,” he added.

Rosemarie Rizzo, founder of Rosie’s Confidence Corner, an organization that promotes personal and social awareness through advocacy and self-help resources, participated in the event and considered it a great success.

“(Organizer) Chip Cafiero  did a great job as usual and the hundreds of children that came to play, hunt and read were all smiles throughout the day,” she said. “Rosie’s Confidence Corner gave out prizes each time a child found the ‘Golden’ egg. Our teaching of the day was not all about anti-bullying. We also assured both the children and parents that ‘it’s kool to be kind.'”
