An unknown perp filched checks mailed by a 43-year-old woman, check washed them and cashed the altered versions sometime between Wednesday, June 28 at around 9 a.m. and Thursday, July 6 according to reports.
Cops say the victim claims she mailed two checks on the northeast corner of Ridge Boulevard and 88th Street. An unknown crook acquired them, washed the ink off of them and cashed them for approximately $9,600.
No arrests have been made.
