Bensonhurst apartment building fire leaves two with serious injuries

An early morning fire in Bensonhurst caused serious injury to two people on Friday, July 28.

The blaze began on the third floor of a four-story apartment building located at 6713 19th Avenue shortly after 2:30 a.m., according to the Fire Department. Sixty firefighters responded to the scene and had the fire under control by 3:30 a.m.

The FDNY reported that two occupants of the building suffered critical injuries and were taken to Maimonides Medical Center for treatment.
