An early morning fire in Bensonhurst caused serious injury to two people on Friday, July 28.

The blaze began on the third floor of a four-story apartment building located at 6713 19th Avenue shortly after 2:30 a.m., according to the Fire Department. Sixty firefighters responded to the scene and had the fire under control by 3:30 a.m.

The FDNY reported that two occupants of the building suffered critical injuries and were taken to Maimonides Medical CenterĀ for treatment.
