Brooklyn gears up for egg-cellent Easter activities

Get ready for another Brooklyn Egg-stravangza.

With the Easter season upon us, the borough is ready once again to celebrate the season with fun-filled events for attendees of all ages to enjoy. Activities include the holiday’s fixtures such as Easter egg hunts, meeting the Easter bunny, and more.

Leading off is State Senator Marty Golden’s annual Easter Egg Hunt at Marine Park, Fillmore Avenue and Madison Place, on Saturday, March 24. From 2-4 p.m., the event will include games, music, activities and prizes. Kids can also have their photo taken with the Easter Bunny, all for free. Also on Saturday, March 24, State Senator Roxanne Persaud will host an Easter Egg Hunt at Canarsie Park, East 88th Street and Seaview Avenue, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The free event will feature light refreshments, an appearance by the Easter Bunny and other fun-filled activities. On the same day, Evergreens Cemetery’s Easter Extravaganza will be held at the Cemetery of the Evergreens, 1630 Bushwick Avenue, featuring an egg hunt and a visit from the Easter Bunny, as well as a magic show, a petting zoo and refreshments. Next up is a five-day celebration during the Green Meadow Farm’s 2018 Easter Egg Hunt Weekend at Aviator Sports & Events Center, 3159 Flatbush Avenue. From Thursday, March 29 through Monday, April 2 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., children will be able to search for colorful eggs that will be filled with prizes. the event will also include photo opportunities with Whiskers the Easter Bunny, a tiny tractors corn box, new bunny house, hay ride, hay wagon slide, additional farm activities, Easter baskets, pony rides and more. Then on Saturday, March 31, the Wyckoff Farmhouse Easter Egg Hunt will take place. Hosted by Councilmember Jumaane Williams, from 12-3 p.m., kids and their families can head to the Wyckoff Farmhouse Museum, 5816 Clarendon Road, where they can hunt for Easter eggs, meet the Easter Bunny, get their faces painted, enjoy refreshments, games, music and more. On Saturday, March 31, starting at 11 a.m., Town Square will hold its Seventh Annual Spring Egg Hunt at fourfivesix, 199 Richardson Street. Attendees can bring their own baskets for the egg hunt. Like in past years, there will be photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny and arts and crafts. Esther Crow, DJ Natalie, and Audra & Jen will  be performing. Also on Saturday, March 31, the Pitkin Avenue BID and Trucked Out will sponsor the 10th Annual Pitkin Avenue Easter Parade & Brownsville Easter Egg Hunt. The event will start at 11:30 a.m. at the Zion Triangle, Pitkin Avenue and Legion Street, and will end at Betsy Head Park and Field, Herzl Street and Dumont Avenue, where the Easter Egg Hunt will commence.

The parade will feature marching bands, antique cars, the Girl Scouts of America, stilt walkers, the Brownsville Youth Corps, NYPD Mounted Police and the Easter Bonnet Brigade. Finally, Golden will also host the annual Shore Road Park Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 31, from 2- 4 p.m., at Shore Road and 79^th street, for free, Kids will be off to the races to hunt for eggs in the park as they, along with their families, participate in a number of other activities, such as games, dancing, music and prize giveaways, and meet the Easter Bunny as well.
