Police have arrested and charged 61-year-old Victor Rivera in connection with the second degree robbery of a 79-year-old woman that occurred in Sunset Park late last month.
According to cops, on Monday, October 24 at around 6:50 a.m., the victim was walking towards 53rd Street between Fourth and Fifth Avenues when Rivera allegedly approached her from behind and stole her bag, causing her to fall on the ground and hit her head. The perp fled the location and the victim was taken to NYU Lutheran Medical Center.
According to police reports, Rivera has also been charged with burglary and criminal possession of stolen property. He is a Sunset Park resident.
