The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man responsible for a pattern of robberies spanning several different police precincts in Brooklyn and Queens.
According to police, 64-year-old Clarence Jones – described as a 5’8” black male, weighing 202 pounds with gray hair – has been linked to several violent robberies aimed at senior citizens in the 78th, 104th, and 66th Precincts.
Among the incidents is the attack on a 91-year-old woman on March 2, in which the assailant placed her in a chokehold and demanded money at gunpoint.
In addition, the suspect is alleged to have targeted a 76-year-old woman on January 20, pushing her inside her apartment and demanding money while displaying a knife and firearm; as well as approached and robbed another female, 71, on February 11, displaying a firearm and hitting her in the face; and assaulted an 83-year-old woman on March 26, hitting her in the face with a hard object.
Collectively, almost $2,000 has been taken in total from the victims.
Jones was last seen wearing a dark-colored hooded sweater, a black jacket, a black wool cap, black gloves, light colored pants and dark-colored shoes. The latest incident occurred in the vicinity of Ocean Parkway and Beverly Road.
