Crook strikes two apartments within the same Bay Ridge building

Two apartments within the same Bay Ridge building, located on Ridge Boulevard between Shore Road and Marine Avenue, were robbed last week, according to cops.

According to police, the first apartment — belonging to a 33-year-old woman — was burglarized, with $400 in jewelry taken. Cops say the woman left her home on Tuesday, January 24 at around 7:30 a.m. and, when she returned the following day at around 6:15 p.m., she discovered that the front door of the apartment was unlocked and found jewelry on her bed. The crook allegedly stole two pairs of earrings and a necklace.

Damage to the rear window lock was also discovered.

Similarly, a 34-year-old woman returned from her vacation to find that her apartment — located within the same building — had been broken into and that $5,125 worth of jewelry has been stolen. Cops say that, between Monday, January 23 at around 4:30 a.m. and Thursday, January 26 at 8:45 p.m., the burglar broke into the apartment and stole several Tiffany rings, a Movado watch and earrings.

The woman found the door unlocked when she came home.
