With local races heating up, deadlines are fast approaching for participation  in this year’s primaries.

This year’s New York State primary elections will be held on Tuesday, September 12, meaning New Yorkers must be registered in the party of their choice by Friday, August 18.

August 18 is the last day to postmark a mailed registration application or to register in person with the Board of Elections (BOE). It is also the last day for the BOE to receive an application for military ballots for the primary election if the service member has not previously registered.

Additionally, Wednesday, August 23 is the last day to change an address on a voter registration form. Finally, Tuesday, September 5 will be the last day for the BOE to receive an application for a military ballot for the primaries if the service member has previously listed.

It is also the last day to postmark a mailed application for an absentee primary ballot.
