DEP announces advisory for Dyker sewer construction

The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has announced an advisory for Wednesday, August 3 as they begin emergency repairs on a sewer in Dyker Heights.

Repairs will take place on 83rd Street, between 11th and 12th Avenues. According to DEP, construction will typically take place from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and last anywhere from four to five days depending on utility interference and/or inclement weather. However, the contractor may go beyond those hours in order to complete certain work operations within the same day.

Residents are also advised that if their water service must be interrupted as a result of the construction, they will be notified a day before the scheduled interruption. Curbside parking may also be temporarily halted, as well as driveway access.

Any notices of street closures/detours will be posted by DEP in advance. For more information, residents may contact the DEP’s Office of Community Affairs at 718-595-3496.
