John Dewey High School (50 Avenue X) was the place to be on Mother’s Day weekend as the school hosted its first ever Family Fun Day on Saturday, May 7.
From music to games, to vendors to entertainment, the all-day event hit all the fun-packed bases.
“The day went fabulously,” said PTA President Rob Accurso. “The weather hurt us a little bit, but, considering, the kids had a ball.”
The carnival-style event featured rides and games but with a little extra oomph thanks to some student drama, dance and modeling performances happening throughout the day.
For a first time event, Accurso said, overall “it went great.
“It was a learning experience but we’re going to do it again next year,” he said. “It’s going to be a two-day event.”
