Free Samples At Pinkberry’s First Brooklyn Store

If you thought the frozen yogurt scene in Park Slope was full to the brim with the likes of Culture, Wicked Spoon, Yogo Monster and Tasti-D-Lite, think again, because as with any indulgence, there’s always room for one more spoonful.

So make way for popular fro-yo chain Pinkberry, which chose the Slope for their first Brooklyn store, having its grand opening tomorrow, July 20, at 161 Seventh Avenue, at Garfield Place.

Fortunately, we don’t have to wait another 24 hours for a taste of Pinkberry’s tangy seasonal strawberry frozen yogurt with dried fruit on top, because store employees will be giving out **free samples** to local residents and families TODAY, from 6 to 10 p.m.

We had the chance to speak with Pete Casey, Pinkberry’s director of East Coast operations, and according to him, “Pinkberry in Park Slope – we think it’s a great fit [because] residents are informed and they recognize and appreciate fresh product. So we’re a natural complement for one another.”

Another complement is the fact that this Pinkberry branch’s staff is all local.

“We really want to focus on what we do well – handcrafted proprietary blends and purees and mixed with hormone free RBST-free non-fat milk, non-fat yogurt, the highest quality freshest produce that is never frozen, and handcut fruit every day,” said Casey, who also touted the Pinkberry topping bar of over 25 dry fruit options.

“We think that we differentiate ourselves by focusing on what we do really well and providing a great customer experience, [as well as] building long-term connections in the community,” he said.

Pinkberry’s grand opening starts tomorrow at 11 a.m.
