LES debuts new science lab

Students at the Lutheran Elementary School are benefiting from the generosity of alumni and friends. Over the summer, a new science lab was constructed.  The lab includes an interactive Promethean board. Grades three through eight work in the lab with Dr. Vivian Cama, science specialist.

The science lab was dedicated in memory of LES graduate and Bay Ridge resident Stephen Vella. He was valedictorian of LES in 1989 and went on to graduate from Poly Prep, Princeton and Yale. Dr. Vella passed away in 2010. He is remembered for his brilliant mind and kind heart.
