National Weather Service warns of tropical storm conditions for Brooklyn

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook advisory for Brooklyn this week, as Hurricane Jose is predicted to pass parallel to the Atlantic Ocean’s coastline throughout the week.

According to the NWS, tropical storm conditions are possible on Tuesday, September 19. Expect wind gusts of up to 25 mph early Tuesday morning, with gusts of up to 30 mph coming at night. On Wednesday morning, gusts may be as high as 35 mph.

A coastal flood watch is also in effect for Brooklyn, from 6 p.m. on September 19 until 6 p.m. on September 20. Surf height will be building from six feet to 12 feet by Tuesday.
