New Utrecht Avenue shooting leaves 36-year-old dead

A man was shot dead just passed noon on Monday, August 29 at the intersection of 46th Street and New Utrecht Avenue in Borough Park.

According to police, a call to 911 was made at approximately 12:20 p.m. this afternoon, after which officers arrived on the scene to discover a 36-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso.

Emergency Medical Services arrived shortly after and transported the victim — who has been identified by police as Henry Nashan of Montgomery Street — to Maimonides Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

According to reports, cops have been on the lookout for two black men that were seen fleeing the scene and heading towards Eighth Avenue. One was wearing a black t-shirt, the other, a purple t-shirt.

Police were also said to be looking for a 2015 red Nissan Rogue.

There are no arrests at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
