Celebrate good times in Dyker.

Investors Bank’s new Dyker Heights branch, 7414 13th Avenue, welcomed the neighborhood with its Family Day Celebration on Saturday, September 10, featuring a festive atmosphere, with activities for children and adults.

“It turned out great,” said Elizabeth Holland, the assistant manager at the branch. “We had a barbecue outside and set up a tent for everyone to eat hot dogs, hamburgers and corn.”

Kids were also treated to activities throughout the day with face painting, balloon artists and deejays making appearances.

Former New York Giants wide receiver Stephen Baker was also in attendance, signing autographs for attendees.

State Senator Marty Golden also stopped by to wish the branch luck, along with the bank’s Executive Vice President and Chief Retail Banking Officer Paul Kalamaras .

According to Holland, the day was a success. “A lot of people showed up and enjoyed themselves. It was a great day and a way of Investors becoming a part of community,” Holland said. “It’s a family-oriented neighborhood and part of our bank’s culture is giving back. We thought this was an appropriate way to do it.”

The bank officially opened in Dyker back in July. Branch Manager Franco Cappitta, who grew up in the Bay Ridge area, is excited for Investors to embrace the neighborhood.

“I’m very enthusiastic about opening an Investors Bank branch and serving customers near the neighborhoods where I grew up,” he said in a statement.  “Our Dyker Heights team has an opportunity to make a significant difference in the community. In fact, we’re looking to volunteer our time and talents by serving and assisting local community groups, so please contact us.”
