NIA Community Services Network welcomed Halloweekend in style on Saturday, October 29 at the organization’s Halloween Spooktacular.

The Spooktacular — which encompassed 11th Avenue between 66th and 67th Streets — hit the streets, starting at 11 a.m., and included tons of free fun, from live performances and music to games and a photo booth.

“NIA is the neighborhood organization that takes care of our kids, our community, our sports programs, and our after-school programs,” said State Senator Marty Golden, who was on hand to present organizers with a Certificate of Merit for all of their hard work, day in and day out.

“NIA makes it possible for you to have a good education,” Golden told costumed children in attendance.

NIA Community Services Network is a not-for-profit community service organization that, since its founding in 1981, has been dedicated to addressing issues that impact youth, families and seniors. Since its inception, NIA has provided cost-free services to more than 6,000 clients each year, including numerous after-school programs, youth and family counseling services, summer day camps, cultural arts programs, as well as family and senior citizen assistance programs.
