According to a police source, an arrest has been made in connection to the June 30 murder of L&B Spumoni Gardens co-owner Louis Barbati.

Barbati, 61, was found with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso outside of his Dyker Heights home near 76th Street and 12th Avenue just past 7 p.m. while his wife and sons were inside.

“An arrest was made this morning in regards to the L&B situation,” the source told this paper on Thursday, November 3. “It is under federal seal so no one can release any information.”

Surveillance footage of a man, wanted for questioning in the fatal shooting, was released in early July, though it is unclear at this time if that suspect is who police have apprehended.

During the investigation, reports claimed that the shooting had been a “robbery gone wrong,” as Barbati was found with $10,000 in cash on his person.

We will update this story with more information as it becomes available.
