REMINDER: BKLYN DESIGNS starts tomorrow

This weekend, May 10-12, marks the return of BKLYN DESIGNS 2013 – New York’s “premier exhibition of contemporary furnishings and home accessories that are designed or manufactured in Brooklyn.”

The three-day event is being be held at St. Ann’s Warehouse in DUMBO and features a juried exhibition of dynamic collections of designs from the most innovative Brooklyn-based furnishing designers and manufacturers.

The 10th annual event is being held in conjunction with New York Design Week and is praised by Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce president/CEO Carlo Scissura as a chance for people to highlight Brooklyn’s central role in New York’s innovation and creativity.

“Over the past decade, BKLYN DESIGNS has grown to be one of the biggest design shows in the country and raises the bar for avant-garde, iconic Brooklyn designs, exceeding the expectations of both participants and viewers alike,” gushed Scissura. “This year will be no exception.”

“Brooklyn Designs is a major platform — not only emerging talent, but for young designers who are breathing creative life into New York City,” said Wendy Goodman, design editor at New York Magazine. “It is more important than ever to hear their voice. Hurray for Brooklyn Designs!”
