A series of stolen vehicles and break-ins hits Bay Ridge area

A series of grand larcenies has occurred during the month of August around the Bay Ridge area.

According to the NYPD, a car generator and credit cards were stolen from a car parked on Sixth Avenue between Senator and 68th Streets on Sunday, August 6 at around 11 a.m. The victim, a 67-year-old man, discovered that a perp had entered the vehicle, which may have been left unlocked, stolen the goods and used the credit cards at three separate locations.

Subsequently, a 68-year-old woman had her vehicle stolen from its parking spot on 80th Street between Third and Fourth Avenues on Tuesday, August 8. According to cops, the victim returned to the parking spot at around 6:30 a.m. to find the car gone.

A 23-year-old man then had his motorcycle stolen after leaving it at 80th Street and Fourth Avenue on Wednesday, August 9. Reports say that at around 7:30 a.m., the man went to retrieve his cycle only to find it missing.

On Thursday, August 10, a 27-year-old man discovered that unauthorized charges had been made on his credit cards, stolen when an unknown crook broke into his car, which was parked on 68th Street between Bay Cliff Terrace and Ridge Boulevard. According to reports, at around 4 p.m., the victim discovered the credit cards were missing and later realized the unidentified perp had charged around $365 on them.

A crook broke into a 26-year-old man’s car, parked at Fifth and Bay Ridge Avenues, and stole his credit cards and cell phones on Sunday, August 13. Police say that, at around 5:15 a.m., the victim discovered that the perp had broken one of the car’s windows and stolen the goods.
