Spa founder shares her journey on Victoria’s Stars

Procedures and makeup and products, oh my!

While this may sound like a beauty lover’s version of Oz, this paradise exists—conveniently located off of the Long Island Expressway—and is in the spotlight on this week’s episode of “Victoria’s Stars.”

Victoria Schneps, host of the show and co-publisher of this paper, sat down to chat with Cori Goldfarb, founder of Truth + Beauty Medical Spa, a multifaceted space that offers a range of services and “where beauty is science deep.”

The spa was born out of a need experienced by Goldfarb, who lived in Manhattan for 10 years before moving to Long Island; relocated, she found herself constantly heading back to the city for her ritual beauty needs.

“I was just getting sick and tired of having to go get a facial in one place, my eyebrows plucked in another, my makeup application done in another,” Goldfarb recalled. “Why couldn’t there be something—whether it was on Long Island or in a closer proximity to where I live—that had it all, everything under one roof, one-stop shopping for all your beauty needs?”

While the wife and mother had her plate full at home with four daughters, she still could not shake the idea of creating a facility that explored an extraordinarily broad range of beauty services.

The dreamy space, now equipped with a 1,500-square-foot retail area and state-of-the-art equipment, offers a variety of treatments, products and services including hydrafacials, laser hair reduction, chemical peels, acne masks, laser resurfacing, Botox, dermal fillers, microneedling, eyebrow shaping, makeup application and more.

As a complimentary service, all first-time guests are set up with a “Moment of Truth” —a short consultation where a beauty coach uses a VISIA machine to take photos of the skin’s deepest layers in order to provide an overall breakdown of skin health and how it can be improved.

With double board-certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon, Dr. Jennifer Levine on board, who Goldfarb praised for work she has done on her own skin, operations have been running smoothly—pun intended.

“It really changed my life,” Goldfarb said about her procedures with Levine. “It made me feel better. I want the outside to reflect how good I feel on the inside.”

In balancing time between her family and her business—which she proudly calls a “beauty playground for grown-ups,” Goldfarb also manages to support charities important to her like Heather on Earth, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing funding for the use of music therapy programs in children’s hospitals, and HorseAbility, a non-profit organization aimed at accelerating treatments for those with disabilities through hippotherapy, therapeutic horseback riding.

Maintaining a positive attitude is what keeps Goldfarb going. “You have to be happy,” said Goldfarb. “I would rather surround myself with glass-half-full people.”

The show will air on December 12 at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. on BCAT, which can be found on Time Warner channel 34, Cablevision channel 67, RCN channel 82 and Verizon channel 42. Gregori Romenski is the show’s producer.
