Seventh grader at St. Patrick’s Catholic Academy Thomas Prezioso has displayed many talents. At 12 years old, he loves giving back to his church as an altar boy, does volunteer work, helps at lunchtime with younger grades and assists the school’s new principal with escorting new board members around the school. However his real passion is singing and performing.

What kind of service do you do to help your school and what is your favorite hobby?

I’m an altar server at church. I’m in the drama club at school. At school, sometimes, when the principal needs help with delivering packages and other things, she calls me to help. I love helping people out and doing good things.

I really enjoy being an altar boy. I just did a couple of masses the other day and it felt great to help out. I’m very religious, as is my family.

I love performing as well. This year we’re doing the musical “Shrek” and I’m playing the role of Shrek on Saturday, March 25, and I’m really excited about it and looking forward to it. We have a different show every year, usually a Disney one. I was in “The Lion King” and “Beauty and the Beast” the previous year.

I like singing a lot. Being in the shows is a lot of fun, especially being with all my friends. By doing it, I like making people happy and brightening up their day.

Who are some of your inspirations?

My family inspires and supports me a lot as well as my cousins, aunts and uncles. They always wish me luck and encourage me during special occasions.

What do you want to be when you’re older?

For high school, I want to go to Xavier. My brother went there and I love that it’s in the city.

I want to be an astronomer when I get older. I love learning about NASA, the universe and stars, and I look up to astronauts.
