A LIFETIME OF SERVICE: Growing up in Borough Park, 81-year-old Crispiano is a graduate of St. Johns Prep and St. Johns University, where he was in the same graduating class as former Governor Mario Cuomo and earned a BA in Latin American studies. He served in the Army during the Korean War and is now a retired New York State civil servant.
I lived in Panama for a while when I was in the private sector, he recalled. I spent 20 years in the state service as a court officer and court analyst. I traveled the world, all over the Orient. I have been to Japan and Korea many, many times.
Crispiano also speaks Spanish, Italian and a bit of many other languages, including Japanese.
PERSONAL LIFE: Crispiano, who has lived in Bensonhurst for over 30 years, has two sons: one residing in Florida and the other in Staten Island. Ann, his wife of 45 years, died 12 years ago from lupus, a horrible disease.
GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT: Crispiano is most proud of his complete involvement in so many walks of life. His involvement put him on a first-name basis with many of his elected officials and local leaders. I am very satisfied with what I have accomplished and think I am well liked, he noted.
