Sunset burglar falls out of second-story window, runs and falls again

A Sunset Park burglar was foiled by his own escape method when he fell out of an apartment in the process of fleeing the scene.

A 27-year-old man was arrested on burglary charges after nearly falling to his death out of an apartment window near 39^th Street and Third Avenue in the process on Friday, September 15.

Reports say that the alleged perp broke into the 58-year-old man’s apartment at around 11:48 p.m. When the victim entered the apartment, the alleged perp fled through the escape outside the living room, broke the window and fell from the second floor of the building and landed on the pavement.

He attempted to run and was later found lying face down on the corner of Second Avenue and 48^th Street. The alleged burglar was treated for injuries and survived the fall.
