Bay Ridge has once again been selected as the backdrop for the upcoming HBO production, “The Deuce.”
This time, filming will take place on Tuesday, August 9 near 87th Street between Narrows Avenue and Colonial Road as well as on Fifth Avenue between Bay Ridge Avenue and 68th Street.
As we’ve previously reported, the drama series, starring James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhaal, will depict the rise of the porn industry in Midtown Manhattan from the early 1970s through the mid-80s. Franco will take on a dual role as twin brothers who become mob fronts in Times Square’s lucrative sex industry, while Gyllenhaal will play the role of a prostitute. The series is slated to premiere in 2017.
