Tour Brooklyn’s houses of worship at the Sacred Sites Open House Weekend

Get ready for a special open house this month.

Eleven Brooklyn congregations and houses of worship will be participating in this year’s “Sacred Sites Open House Weekend,” a two-day event that features the best of what some of New York’s religious institutions have to offer.

The sixth annual event hosted by the New York Landmarks Conservancy features over 40 sites throughout the city in total and gives visitors a glimpse into the historical, artistic and spiritual contents of the city’s churches and synagogues on Saturday, May 21 and Sunday, May 22.

“Many of New York’s magnificent houses of worship have served generations and continue to anchor communities and all too often, they are seen only by their members,” said Peg Breen, president of the New York Landmarks Conservancy.  “The Sacred Sites Open House Weekend allows everyone to enjoy the architecture, art and history of these remarkable structures.”
