It is my honor to highlight the decades of volunteer work done in the Bay Ridge community by a very special lady named Eileen Potter. For the past 35 years, Eileen has served on a number of committees under the umbrella of the Bay Ridge Community Council.
She is a past member of the board of directors, and is currently co-chair of the Admissions Committee. Due to her vast experience and interest in our community, she is also the historian of the council.
September 25 marks her 50th wedding anniversary to her wonderful husband, Phil, who also assists in the council and attends its meetings with her. Their two children Debbie and Michael join the entire Bay Ridge community in wishing them many more wonderful years of marriage.
COMMUNITY NEWS
A warm Bay Ridge welcome to Lieutenant Joel Ashcraft, and Lieutenant Kathleen Ashcraft, the new officers of the Salvation Army, located at 252 86th Street. They are now preparing for the big Christmas season, and anticipate a warm response from our community.
Congratulations to my friend Howie Dunn, who is being recognized for his patriotic service at this newspaper’s Kings of Kings event at the Grand Prospect Hall. The event will be held on October 8. Howie is the embodiment of a true patriot.
