43-year-old Dyker Heights resident arrested for trespassing on local school property

Police have arrested 43-year-old Shu Chan for criminal trespassing in the third degree after he allegedly entered a Dyker Heights school, having previously reportedly attempted to take photographs nearby.

According to reports, on Wednesday, November 8 at around 12:45 p.m., a 37-year-old woman told police she confronted the suspect near 83rd Street and 13th Avenue for taking photographs near St. Bernadette’s School. The woman said the suspect argued with her and then took a picture of her. He also allegedly took photos near St. Ephrem’s School, on Fort Hamilton Parkway near 74th Street.

Then on Monday, November 13 at around 12:40 p.m., the suspect alleged entered St. Bernadette’s without permission and remained there before fleeing the scene.

Chan, who is a Dyker Heights resident, was arrested by 68th Precinct officers on Tuesday, November 14 at around 3 p.m.
