Animal Care Centers of NYC offering fee-waived cat adoptions in Brooklyn

As you root for the champions of our country in the Olympics, adopt a champion cat!

In honor of the 2016 Olympics, the Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC) is offering fee-waived adoptions on all cats over six months old through August 31.

You can find and adopt a furry friend at ACC’s Brooklyn location, 2336 Linden Boulevard, Monday through Friday from 12-8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

ACC is also adding another opportunity for cat adoption at the Petco at Gateway Mall, 528 Gateway Drive #4, on Saturday, August 13 from 12-4 p.m.

To help cats and kittens stay out of the shelter during the summer, ACC is asking for the public to do three things:

1. If you find a litter of kittens who appear to be healthy and are in a safe location like a yard or under a tree, leave them alone and monitor them. Mother cats will often leave their babies for short periods of time and then return.

2. If you find a cat that is sick or injured, call 311 to report it or bring it into the Animal Care Center closest to you.

3. The shelter is in immediate need of kitten fosters. If you would like to foster, sign up at nycacc.org or email fosters@nycacc.org and help save a kitten or an entire litter.
