Beyond at Liberty View and Industry City team up for first Easter Bunny Hop

It was a hoppin’ time in Sunset Park thanks to a collaboration of two local complexes.

Beyond at Liberty View collaborated with Industry City on Saturday, March 24, for the first annual Easter Bunny Hop event, drawing families to IC, 274 36th Street in the morning and early afternoon to celebrate the holiday with fun activities, and in the afternoon, to Beyond at Liberty View, 850 Third Avenue, for an Easter egg hunt and visits with the Easter Bunny.

Bari Fagan, the director of brand integration, video, and promotions for Bed Bath & Beyond, considered the day and collaboration a success.

“Once again, Beyond at Liberty View is thrilled to be partnering with our friends at Industry City,” she said. “I think that we all felt that we had a great and successful event, not only for ourselves but for the community, Sunset Park and all our neighbors in Brooklyn that came. We had over 1,000 families. Everybody felt great about it and was happy about it. What a wonderful crowd it was.”

At Industry City, families enjoyed the Sunset Park Saturday Cinema Club for Kids’ showing of “Bambi” on the factory floor. There were also Li-Lac Easter chocolate giveaways, springtime crafts, an Easter egg hunt, a Rock and Roll Playhouse, face painting and balloons.

“This year’s Easter Bunny Hop at Liberty View welcomed a diverse crowd of more than 5,000 attendees for a special Easter egg hunt, live music and other festive activities,” said Cristal Rivera, director of community engagement at Industry City. “We are proud to have partnered with Beyond to present such a fantastic community celebration for both locals and visitors alike to enjoy.”

In the afternoon, at Beyond at Liberty View, families were beguiled by “Seven bunny hop stops where they received toys, Easter eggs with treats inside and Silly Putty eggs,” Fagin said. “We had a map and they followed it and stopped at all of our stores and restaurants. They stopped at Micro Center, our neighbor downstairs. They were great partners in this. They had an Easter egg hunt down there as well and probably the main attraction was the Beyond Easter garden where the children met the Easter Bunny and took their picture with him. They were given a free picture to take home and share with their family. There were a lot of happy children that day.

“Each kid that participated in the hunt received chocolate eggs, toys, lollipops and more,” added Fagin. “The Easter Bunny also gave them a bag with toys.”

For Fagin, the first event was a success.

“It was a full day,” she said. “The kids had a great time and we had beautiful weather. We were lucky once again. They were so excited when the Easter Bunny came out and waved. Some kids came all dressed  up and they brought their own Easter baskets. They were so cute. Once again, we’re happy to offer this to our neighbors in Sunset Park and friends in Brooklyn who came far and wide.”
