It will be here sooner than you think.

The U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Coast Guard on Thursday, January 18 announced dates for the 2018 edition of Fleet Week New York (FWNY).

Now in its 30th  year, FWNY — the city’s salute to the sea services — is scheduled to take place from Wednesday, May 23 through Wednesday, May 30 of this year.

The event has been held nearly every year since 1984, and it is anticipated that nearly 2,100 service members will participate this year.

“Fleet Week New York is the city’s time-honored celebration of the sea services,” noted Fleet Week New York in a statement on its website. “It is an unparalleled opportunity for the citizens of New York and the surrounding tri-state area to meet sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen, as well as witness firsthand the latest capabilities of today’s maritime services.
