How to get on the phone with Santa himself, this holiday season

It’s a Christmas miracle!

New York kids and other, perhaps older Santa enthusiasts finally have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to call the big man himself.

Through a new app on any of the city’s LinkNYC tablets, New Yorkers can now call Santa Claus for free. Messages can also be left directly on Santa’s workshop voicemail – which opens with a jolly greeting from ol’ St. Nick himself.

“We are excited to offer parents the opportunity to help their kids reach Santa Claus — just call him directly from any Link in the five boroughs and tell him your holiday wish list,” said Jen Hensley,  general manager of LinkNYC. “LinkNYC already allows New Yorkers to make free phone calls to anywhere in the United States, thanks to our partnership with Vonage. But for the holidays, we’re extending free calling all the way to the North Pole.”

According to LinkNYC, to make sure nice New Yorkers know about the latest way to reach Santa, LinkNYC will temporarily use a holiday-themed version of its tablet home screen, where images of Santa will be seen on each Link’s 55-inch display.
