In support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the New York City- based group Kids for Kids Foundation hosted the seventh annual Kids for Kids Family Fun Day which took place on Saturday, May 30.

Over 1,200 guests gathered at Aviator Sports and Events Center in Brooklyn to raise money for St. Jude as the hospital continues to treat many children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases. By purchasing a ticket, families were able to enjoy several activities throughout the day including carnival games, face painting, ice skating, and rock climbing, as well as a BBQ lunch, raffle prizes and live entertainment.

“It has been a privilege to see the Kids for Kids committee and junior committee work together these last seven years to raise over $5 million for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital,” said Robert Catalano, one of the event founders. Similar to the previous year, the Kids for Kids committee was able to reach its goal of raising $1 million again this year, while the Kids for Kids junior committee beat its goal by raising over $43,000.

The support from the guests who came out, and the event sponsors helped to ensure that the families of children being treated at St. Jude never have to pay for treatment, so whether it was by purchasing tickets, making donations, or pledging sponsorship, all the help that was received made a large impact.

“We believe in the mission of St. Jude and the importance of keeping families strong during their difficult time,” Catalano said. “Kids for Kids will continue to work towards the goal of eradicating childhood cancer and other deadly diseases.”
