Locals launch fundraiser to help Brooklynite with stage 4 lymphoma

Supporting a local and beloved Brooklynite in need.

Lifelong Brooklynite Michael Papa, a Fort Hamilton High School graduate and former employee at Circles Café, was diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma and the local community, friends and family he loves so much are stepping up to lend a helping hand.

On Sunday, November 19 at the Knights of Columbus Archbishop John Hughes Council #481, 1305 86th Street, friends are holding a Chinese Auction from 1-6 p.m. to support him and his family.

The $40 admission includes dinner, beer, wine and soda. Money raised will go to Papa and his family for medical, food and shelter needs.

Gift baskets and 50/50 raffle tickets will also be sold. All money collected from raffles will also go to Papa and his family.

According to the Go Fund Me page, Papa, a father of four, has been sick for the last couple of months and hasn’t been working. He was admitted to the hospital where doctors found a mass in his back and also in his head.

In two months the Go Fund Me page has collected $11,057.
