Man arrested in connection to fatal hit and run in Sunset Park

A 35-year-old man was arrested after allegedly striking and killing a pedestrian during a hit and run in the Sunset Park area.

According to authorities, Leonel Ortega-Flores, driving a 2004 GMC van, allegedly hit 32-year-old Jose Cardoso of Staten Island on Saturday, June 30 at around 8 p.m. after losing control of the vehicle while trying to park on 21st Street between Third and Fourth Avenues.
