New real estate association presidents installed

The Women’s Council of Realtors Brooklyn Chapter recently installed its newest leadership team, led by incoming President Annette Fisher.

The event was held in conjunction with the Brooklyn Board of Realtors luncheon where Mohammed Mahmoud, the group’s 2016 president, and his leadership team, were also installed.

The 2016 Installation Luncheon was held on Tuesday, January 12 at Michael’s Restaurant, Nostrand Avenue and Avenue R, where, said Fisher, “Everyone was buzzing about Brooklyn, and how fortunate we are to have the economy we have here.”

Fisher, who was recently honored as one of this newspapers’ Top Women in Business, noted, “For me, it’s prestigious since I’ve only been in the real estate industry for about three years. It was kind of amazing that they chose me to continue to take it in the right direction. We are trying to do more collaborating between boards, to work together to better the community.”

Fisher’s team includes President-Elect Robin Snyder, Vice President of Membership Madeline Caudiano, Secretary Anne Marie Stanislaus and Treasurer Julie Kestyn.

Two days later, Broker/Owner of Claire Properties; Claire Bisignano Chesnoff was inducted as the S.I. Board of Realtors’ 54th president on the evening of Thursday, January 14 during a banquet at the Excelsior Grand on Hylan Boulevard in Staten Island.

Chesnoff recalleds the moment, saying, “It was really surreal, thinking back to 18 years ago when I started in the real estate industry. I couldn’t imagine then that one day I’d be standing in front of a room full of people being sworn in as president.”

Moving forward, Chesnoff said, “I want this to be the year of the member, people working together to form a sense of camaraderie. We ultimately all want to achieve the best and the brightest and help people to buy and sell homes, and achieve the American Dream, which is home ownership.”

Also honored at the Banquet were President-Elect Greg Sokol, Cangiano Estates; Secretary/Treasurer Michael Blasi, Sherlock Homes Realty; and Immediate Past President Dilshad (Dil) Gillani, Gillani Homes.
