P.S. 160 supports childhood cancer awareness

On September 23, the faculty and students at P.S. 160 wore gold in support of childhood cancer awareness. September is recognized as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and the international awareness symbol for childhood cancer is the gold ribbon. P.S. 160 chose this day to raise money to honor and remember children and families affected by the disease.

The money raised will be donated to the Francesco Loccisano Memorial Foundation, known as “Frankie’s Mission,” and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Frankie’s Mission is dedicated to helping families of children with cancer and provides direct financial assistance. Going Gold is part of P.S. 160’s dedication to the Service in Schools initiative and giving back to the community.
