St. Francis Animal Hospital: Twenty Years of Caring for Our Best Friends

Our pets are part of our family and when one of them gets sick or simply needs a checkup, St. Francis Animal Hospital is the place to go. For over 20 years it has been serving Brooklyn and the surrounding communities providing the highest level of veterinary medicine. And it is especially known for is its friendly, warm and compassionate family service.

Dr. Frank Battiato opened St. Francis Hospital in 1998 along with his partner Dr. Steve Brigande. Battiato graduated from Stony Brook University with a B.S. in Biology and Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Brigande received his B.S. degree in Biology from Fairfield University and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University.

On July 8, St. Francis marked its 20th anniversary with a celebration that included a blessing of the animals by Rev. Francis Mulvaney, of the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help.

It has been a blessing to serve our loyal and dedicated clients for 20 years in Dyker Heights and the surrounding areas of Brooklyn,” Brigande told this paper. “The hospital’s success is largely due to the tremendous dedication, hard work, compassion and sacrifice that our staff provides day-in and day- out. Without them, this special day would have never been possible.”

Brigande thanked his family who he said sacrificed so much for him to pursue his dream. He also acknowledged his debt to Battiato whom he called a major partner in their veterinary practice.

“His tireless work and dedication to our hospital has never gone unnoticed over the last two decades,” Brigande added.  “His performance and contributions are greatly appreciated by myself, all of our staff, patients and our loyal clients.”

In fact, they treat every patient as if it were their own pet, offering each one the same loving attention and care.
