VIDEO: Police seek three men wanted for burglarizing 70-year-old woman’s apartment after posing as utility workers

Police are seeking three men wanted in connection to the burglary of an apartment in Bensonhurst.

Authorities say that on Friday, January 12 at around 4:45 p.m., the three suspects broke into the residential building at 19th Avenue and 82nd Street by ringing several doorbells.

Once inside, one of the crooks, posing as a utility worker, knocked on the door of an apartment lived in by a 79-year-old woman. The woman let the man inside the apartment after he asked her if she wanted a senior citizen’s discount on her utility bill. The woman left the man alone in the foyer to get some papers from another room. While she was gone, the perp stole $80 from her purse and fled the scene.

Police describe the first suspect as a dark-skinned man last seen wearing a dark colored jacket with patches on the arms, a blue blazer and black pants.

The second individual is also a dark-skinned man and was last seen wearing a green jacket with a fur-lined hood, black pants and yellow work boots.

The third individual is a dark-skinned man, last seen wearing a blue hooded jacket and beige pants, and carrying a black backpack.
