Thomas Jefferson Democratic Club holds annual dinner

The Thomas Jefferson Democratic Club held its 61st annual dinner on Sunday, November 6 and it was an evening filled with recognition, local dignitaries and political luminaries.

“It was a very successful evening,” said City Councilmember Alan Maisel of the event, held at the El Caribe Country Club. “We had almost 500 people there and the dinner represents the largest political gathering in Kings County.

“We were honored by many elected officials,” he continued, “including the mayor, the state comptroller, the city comptroller, Borough President Adams, various assemblypeople, councilmembers and leaders of the Democratic Party.”

The evening took a special moment to honor Roberta Sherman for her years of service as the female Democratic district leader for the 59th Assembly District, which includes the neighborhoods of Canarsie, Mill Basin, Bergen Beach, Georgetown, Flatlands, Marine Park, Gerritsen Beach and eastern Sheepshead Bay.
