CHEAP LAUGHS AT THE SANDBOX

Comedy can go down a lot easier with a couple of cold ones. OnWednesday nights, from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the Sandbox, 257 GrandStreet, an evening of comedians is presented for a five-dollarcover as part of the New York City Broken Comedy series. And ifadmission that cheap doesn’t tickle your funny bone, BrooklynBrewery is making sure to keep you laughing with free beers allnight long. ART OF THE 1920s

Experience the fire of the Roaring Twenties through the eyes ofsome of its most influential artists in a new exhibition opening atthe Brooklyn Museum on October 28. Youth and Beauty: Art of theAmerican Twenties brings together the work of 68 painters,photographers and sculptors. Included are the artists EdwardWeston, Georgia O’Keeffe and Edward Hopper. ONE-MAN SHOW

Who could forget George Burns? The cigar smoking, wise-crackingcomedian died in 1996 at the age of 100, but not before making anindelible impact on the world of comedy with his trademarklaid-back style. On Sunday, October 30, at 2 p.m., at the BrooklynCenter for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College, 2700 Avenue H,Alan Safier will play Burns in the Tony Award-winning one-man show,Say Goodnight Gracie.
