PLANT LIFE EXHIBITION AT BBG

Out of the garden and into the gallery. Terrarium is an exhibitionopening in the Steinhardt Conservatory Gallery at the BrooklynBotanic Garden (BBG) at 900 Washington Avenue on Saturday, December3. The show will feature the work of Brooklyn artist Jae Hi Ahn andBBG curator Jennifer Williams.

Both women draw heavily from natural environments, with Ahnproducing mixed-media sculptures and photography, and Williamsexhibiting landscapes under glass.

The show will run through February 26, during gallery hours:Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The exhibition is freewith admission to the garden, which is $10 for adults and $5 forsenior citizens (65 and older). ARTIST TALK WITH WATERCOLORIST ALLISON MALETZ

New York artist Allison Maletz produces watercolor paintingswith startling depth and precision. On Sunday, December 4, Maletz– whose work has been featured by The Royal Watercolor Society inLondon and in the Moscow Biennale for Young Artists — will give atalk at Brooklyn Artists Gym at 168 Seventh Street.

THE COLONIAL NUTCRACKER AT BROOKLYN COLLEGE

Before visions of sugarplum fairies dance through your head thisholiday season, you can see them first at the Brooklyn Center forthe Performing Arts at Brooklyn College when the Dance Theatre inWestchester presents The Colonial Nutcracker on Sunday, December11 at 2 p.m.
