Xaverian golf outing honors Hall of Fame class

On a day about golf and tradition, Xaverian High School alumsand friends recently converged upon Montclair Golf Club for theschool’s 23rd Alumni Golf Classic and Athletic Hall of FameInduction. \

More than 100 duffers took on the championship course, then satdown to a wonderful dinner honoring five of their own whoseexcellence as student-athletes at Xaverian begged the title, Hallof Famer.

Inducted for their achievement in Track and Field were JohnSexton, Class of 1969, and Tony Perrone, Xaverian’s track coach anda 1954 graduate of St. Michael’s. Wrestler Dan Tucker, Class of1982, was also named to the hall, as were Matt MacGregor, Class of1990 (Basketball) and Class of 1974 grad, Steve Marchetti, who wasnamed for his prowess on the baseball diamond.

The outing, in memory of Dr. Jack Kuhn ’67, owed much of itssuccess to a hard-working committee, chaired by Carl Gambino, Classof 1980, that included Fred Scuteri ’91 and Frank Modica ’82.
