BENEFIT CONCERT FOR HAITI

On Friday, January 13 at 8 p.m., the organizationCommunity2Community’s Haiti Restoration and Transformation Projectwill present Hope and a Future, a benefit concert forHaiti.

The concert, which will take place at Brooklyn Center for thePerforming Arts’ Walt Whitman at 2900 Avenue H, will feature music,dance and spoken word in a celebration of the resilience of theHaitian people. The event will also feature cultural and historicalvignettes telling the country’s story.

ART INSTALLATION EXPLAINED AT BROOKLYN MUSEUM

Back in March, the installation reOrder: An ArchitecturalEnvironment by Situ Studio was opened on the first floor of theBrooklyn Museum 200 Eastern Parkway. The piece – on display untilJanuary 15 — is a transformation of the museum’s10,000-square-foot colonnaded hall through the use of massivedraped jellyfish-like structures.

On Thursday, January 12 at 7 p.m. Aleksey Lukyanov-Cherny of theBrooklyn-based Situ Studio, which created the installation, willjoin museum guide Briana Miller for a free tour and a conversationabout the work, starting in the museum’s Rubin Lobby. For moreinformation go to: www.brooklynmuseum.org.
