BLACK KEYS’ AUERBACH JOINS DR. JOHN AT BAM

Few living artists embody the spirit, legend and soul of NewOrleans like the pianist Dr. John. Best known for his infectiouslyfunky albums of the 1970s like In the Right Place and DestivelyBonnaroo, John is also a tireless preservationist who stands alonein his mastery of past musical idioms like zydeco and honkytonk.

April 5 through April 7, at 8 p.m., fellow preservationist of sortsDan Auerbach of the blues-infused rock duo The Black Keys will jointhe 71-year-old onstage at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM)Howard Gilman Opera House at 30 Lafayette Avenue. INSTALLATION IN PERIOD ROOMS AT BROOKLYN MUSEUM

If you have ever quickly passed by the historic rooms at museums- elaborately decorated replicas of living spaces across timeperiods and economic classes – to get to a different exhibition,this show may be for you. The Brooklyn Museum at 200 EasternParkway is curating a show opening February 24, which invitedartists to place site-specific artwork in eight period rooms on thefourth floor. TELEVISION PRODUCTION CLASS AT BRIC

BEAT THE BLAHS WITH GOAT ON A BOAT PUPPET THEATER
