The Brooklyn Center for Performing Arts at Brooklyn College presents Mufaros Beautiful Daughters An African Tale on Sunday April 22 at 2 p.m. It will be performed by A Dallas Childrens Theater, one of the leading childrens theater companies in the country. The play is based on the Caldecott Award-winning childrens book by Brooklynite John Steptoe about an African king searching for a wife. Recommended donation for ages four and up is $7. 5K RUN/WALK
Harbor Fitness is sponsoring the 5th Annual 5K Walk/Run to support the HeartShare School for children with autism and special needs on Sunday, April 29. Registration is $20 for adults and $5 for kids under 12 and begins at 9 a.m. Registration takes place and the race kicks off in front of Harbor Fitness at Fourth Avenue and 92nd Street. MURDER MYSTERY DINNER
Theater on the Ridge will perform an audience participation murder mystery, Trouble at the Tropicabana, on Friday, April 27 at 7 p.m. at Capri Nightclub. The show will feature local residents, including The Home Reporters own Lori Pedone, and is presented by The BookMark Shoppe, Jeff Samaha Theater Company, Special Request Entertainment, Gold Coast Restaurant and Bar, and Cebu Restaurant. CERAMIC ART SHOW
The Brooklyn Greenway Initiative Gallery presents a ceramic arts show with the works of Kathryn Robinson-Millen on Saturday, April 14 from 2 to 8 p.m. at 153 Columbia Street.
