Carroll Gardens Library Closes For Roof Repairs

The Carroll Gardens Library is temporarily closed for the summer in order to allow workers to replace its roof, which has been deteriorating for some time, said the Brooklyn Public Library (BPL).

Work on the building at 396 Clinton Street began on Sunday, June 17, and will continue for two to three months. Additional work will entail sealing leaks in the building, according to BPL spokesperson Sasha Thompson.

The temporary closure won’t mean you can keep your borrowed books for the entire summer, though. Library patrons are advised to return checked out books to any other library branch in Brooklyn the closest are the Brooklyn Heights Library at 280 Cadman Plaza West, Pacific Library at 25 Fourth Avenue, and Red Hook Library at 7 Wolcott Street.
