It’s Nets Vs. Knicks at Barclays Center On November 1

New York City’s two major basketball teams will compete against one another for the first time at the nearly completed Barclays Center on November 1 at 7 p.m.

The Brooklyn Nets and the New York Knicks will again pit big names the likes of Carmelo Anthony and Kris Humphries against one another in Brooklyn on December 11.

The dates are listed in the full schedule of 2012-2013 season,  released today on the National Basketball Association (NBA) website.

The full schedule for the Nets’ first season is available at http://www.nba.com/nets/schedule/.

The impending season stoked the enthusiasm of at least one fan: Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz.

“Kudos to the NBA for scheduling [the first Nets vs. Knicks] matchup on November 1 in the true home of NBA basketball in New York City—Brooklyn’s spectacular new Barclays Center,” Markowitz said. “Between the two teams there will certainly be lots of excitement and star power in the house that night.”
He added that “it won’t be long before a championship banner so elusive for the Knicks over the past forty years will be hanging in its rightful place from the rafters at Barclays Center.”
