BY JUDE LASSOW

LAURIE’S PITS:  “Please help us save these dogs. All are temper tested as wonderful dogs by the shelter that approached us for help. BAFN will deliver these dogs to you, up-to-date on shots and spay/neutered.

“Please consider saving one of these super friendly pups, from left to right: A374086 — two-year-old female, A373756 – six-month-old female, A373249 — seven-month-old male, A374027 —  one-year-old female. To foster any of these dogs, PLEASE call Laurie Bleier ASAP at 917-754-3537.”

KITTENPOLOOZA: Dawn’s OREO, RUSTY and PATCHES; first shots, friendly, energetic. 646-244-8377, [email protected];  Romeo the Charmer, a very sweet six weeks old kitten, call Donna at 718 490 7055.

UPDATE: Row the dog hit by a car last week — Dr. Frank Battiato, the surgeon and soft tissue specialist at St. Francis Animal Hospital, felt that the infection was clearing up with the antibiotics and surgery was not indicated now. Row is healing well, with no sign of infection (he’ll have to continue antibiotics until he’s all healed). He’s putting weight on the injured leg, and his spirits are good.

DEAR JUDE…HELP PLEASE — The Pope will not allow me to spay an outdoor kitty; she keeps having babies. We take her adorable kitties, find good homes for them, but now her litters are getting bigger and bigger. I have run out of adopters.  I cannot spay her because she might be pregnant and I do not believe in abortion.

“I agree 100 percent with the Pope. But I am afraid that the male cats will hurt her. She is fighting off three big toms. Her litters are gorgeous, but this has been going on for years. We feed her very well, but she does not trust me to put her in a carrier. What am I supposed to do?” — Maggie Mitchell, I am helpless in Bay Ridge.
